As we move deeper into practice, we’ll learn fewer new topics and concentrate on honing our skills. Much of this week’s in-class time will be dedicated to a thorough review of each student’s Project Two.
Projects will be evaluated on basis of:
- Thoroughness, while not overwhelming the viewer with detail. Providing ‘just the right amount’ of information is something we’ll try to clarify.
- Quality of the research and its presentation. For example, cover the 4 W’s.
- Clearly presented behaviorally-based personas. If more than one persona is used, ensure they have different goals, frustrations, or preferences.
- User flows using the right objects.
- Clear problem statements and user stories.
- Early sketches or wireframes that demonstrate the initial concept.
- A prototype, or additional wireframes that clearly show progression of the design. This progression should be based on feedback – either from test participants, other designers, educators, or students, or from viewers who give sensible feedback.
- Usability tests, presentation of the results, and improvements made based on test results.
- Visual design and effectiveness of the prototype.
